It is no surprise that The Property Brothers, Drew and Jonathan Scott would host a pre TIFF party at the Shangri’La. The Shangri’La Hotel is set to have its official Grande Opening on Friday September 7, 2012 and boasts to be one of TIFF’s new celebrity hotspots. The soft opening and Producers Ball was held on Wednesday September 5, 2012 setting the tone for many fabulous parties to come. The 65-storey Shangri’La Hotel has a very friendly and courteous staff, which greets each and every guest personally—making guests, feel welcome. The hotel lobby is extravagant in the least with a 3-storey atrium, an exquisite fireplace, fountains, cozy couches and a four-piece band providing live mood music.
Gabrielle Sunshine Miller or Gabe as she prefers to be called, wins our award for Best Dressed on The Red Carpet. With dress by Canadian designer VAWK from Project Runway she steals the spotlight and she accessorizes head-to-toe with perfection!
The Red Carpet was nearly a two-hour affair, backed up on the carpet with loads of Canadian talent including George Stroumboulopoulos, Gabrielle Sunshine Miller, The Property Brothers, Fefe Dobson and many others.
The celebrities were especially sociable and everyone seemingly couldn’t wait for TIFF to begin. There was an air of excitement and anticipation in the pre TIFF event, and if it is any inclination, this years TIFF is going to be even better then last year!
The private party upstairs in one of the hotels Ballrooms was no exception to the luxuriousness with plush carpeting, chandeliers and a large outdoor patio overlooking downtown Toronto. A live auction, burlesque acrobats performing on the bar, candy girls and delectable, unique chocolates courtesy of Purdy are just a few of the evening’s highlights.
