Fatal Pictures is a Toronto based film company founded and run by Zach Green and Richard Powell. Launched in 2007 Fatal Pictures has released several films most recently a short-film horror called “Familiar“. Written and directed by Powell and produced by Green Familiar has been showing in the international film festival circuit and has been gaining great acknowledgement. Most recently it was accepted as an official selection at Fantasia international film festival 2012 in Montréal that runs from July 19th – August 7th. The haunting trailer depicts a family sitting at the dinning room table clearly numb from the tedious day to day grind and looking more than a little worn down. The chilling monologue from the father at the table (actor Robert Nolan) shows the character’s unsettled mind predicting his wife’s every thought right down to what she is going to say next.
After watching the film I was happy to find myself speed texting my friends to tell them about how awesome this film was. The actors performances combined with the timing and lighting of shots made for a creepy in depth look into the inner workings of a man going insane.
